I'm Back!

Hey! It's been a while since I've updated this thing. I guess I've just been getting used to the New Year, school and everything else. But now it's spring break so I have no excuse but to update, right? Today I wanted to share a little fascination I have. I live in the city, always have my entire life. And the best ting about New York is that there are so many people from all over.
You'll very rarely see the same person twice and I find that kind of cool. There are these people from all over whom you have never met and probably never will meet yet here there are, less than twenty feet away from you. You could make up an entire story about them, what they're like, how many kids they have, who their best friend is, etc. You may be spot on or you may be somewhere out on Jupiter, and guess what? You'll likely never find out anything about them. Isn't that scary? So many people living here on the earth and you don't even know half of them. There are people on the other side of the world right now that are laughing and singing and dancing and not once do you stop and think, "Hey, I wonder what so and so is doing right now" because you don't know them. And sometimes, that bothers me.

Happy New Year's!

I just got back from a very tiring and exciting walk to 42nd street. Honestly, in all my years of living here, I have never been there for the ball drop. This year I thought it'd be fun to go down with a friend and see what all the hype was about. To be frank, there should be no hype.

When we got down to 57th street and 6th ave. or so there were barricades and police. Every street leading down to Broadway was blocked so we had to walk down until we could get through. When we finally got to  57th and 7th ave. (one whole avenue, yay!), there was a massive crowd, people waiting to be frisked by the police so they could get to Times Square. We decided that we weren't gonna wait so we jumped on a train and rode home.

Aside from my walking nightmare, we only have a few more hours until 2013. I've always been really bad at making/keeping resolutions and I am resolving to fix that next year. I have no idea what I'm gonna make my new year's resolution and I probably won't come up with one until way after New Year's.

I'm really excited about what the new year has in store and I cannot wait to say hi in 2013!

Here I Am!

So it's December 30th, 2012, 6: 27 pm. and what am I doing? Making a blog. I live in New York City of all places yet I'm sitting in my bedroom doing absolutely nothing. So maybe I'm not a typical teenager. I mean, all teens go out and party on Sunday nights, right? I don't think I've ever been "normal." Sometimes I'm not even sure I know what the word normal means. What qualifies someone as normal, and someone else as weird. Who gets to say that we're not normal or that someone is 'different'?

Anyway, back to the topic. It's almost 2013. That's exciting, but also scary. It's amazing to think that we've gone through another year this quickly. And of course, New Years in NYC means people. And by people, I mean A LOT of people. Just walking downtown today I got a major headache. I'm okay with tourists, just as long as you know how to walk. I mean this figuratively. Some people are capable of walking in a straight line and not stopping in the middle of the street like they've seen Casper the Friendly Ghost. In NYC, I don't think that exists. And of course holidays are the worst time, when people come from all over to celebrate here.

I love my city to death. I think about moving to other places and then change my mind, because lesbehonest, who wouldn't want to live in the Big Apple. Sometimes it does get annoying, knowing that you can't really go anywhere without getting knocked over by ten million people but I love and hate it. You meet so many people here, and I can't imagine myself anywhere else.

I'm guess I'm coming to the end of my little blog post here. I really just wanted to say hi and kick this thing off before the New Year. if I don't get to make another post before 2013, have an amazing New Year guys!
